Organize Your Apartment or Condo

Organized Bathroom Storage Cabinet

Just because you live in an apartment or condo, it doesn’t mean that having a smaller space means its less messy. Every square foot in an apartment counts so, making it a functional should be a priority.

Decluttering a small space can seem difficult at first, but the key to organizing your apartment is making use of every space available.

Bathroom

Space in your bathroom is at a premium. It’s important to go through all the cabinets and purge the things you really don’t need. Limit yourself to just the essentials to keep yourself organized.

Pick up some nice storage baskets that can hold multiple items for your counter tops.

To help prevent items like shampoo and body washes from building up on the edges of your tub, pick up a shower head hanging rack. This is especially a great idea if multiple people use the same shower.

Floating shelves are great for a bathroom. They take up little space and are perfect for holding extra towels and storage baskets.

An over the toilet cabinet is an excellent space saving solution for your bathroom. Some even come with doors to hide all of your bathroom items and keep it looking neat and clean.

Bedroom

Even the most organized people can have a messy closet. Before you start to organize your closet, go through all of your clothes and get rid of anything that you haven’t worn in the past year or no longer fits.

Fabric closet organizers work great in small spaces. These are great for storing clothing that shouldn’t be hung up, purses, and other accessories.

The best way to put clothes in a dresser is to fold them and store them vertically. It will be easier to find what you need and will take up less space.

Most people have unused space under their bed. Pick up some clear storage bins that fit under your bed for storing things like seasonal clothing and extra blankets and sheets.

Kitchen

When organizing your kitchen, try to keep similar items together. Pots and pans should be kept next to the stove and coffee cups near the coffee maker, etc. Any items that are not used often should be kept in the harder to access areas; such as, in the back of lower cabinets or on top shelves.

There are many handy storage solutions that can be used around your kitchen. Baskets that hang on the back of a cabinet door, wire shelves for under your sink to organize cleaning supplies and drawer organizers to keep all of your kitchen utensils organized and easy to find.

Most people have extra space between their fridge and wall or counter. A rolling storage pantry can fit perfectly hear and hold all of your spices or little kitchen gadgets.

Living room

The living room can be the easiest room to get cluttered as it is usually the room where we all spend most of our time.

Take a look at how your living room is set up. It you have furniture placed so it closes off the room, consider re-arranging it to open up the room and make it feel less cluttered.

Go through your entertainment center and get rid of anything that you don’t use. Go through and organize all of your movies and games. Setting these all up nicely can make a big difference in the look of your room.

Think about getting some furniture that can double as storage like ottomans. These are great storage but also double as coffee or side tables and extra seating.

An arm rest organizer for a couch is a great option for storing your remotes, tablets and magazines.

Self Storage

Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we still can’t make everything fit in our small space. Renting a self storage unit is a great storage space for everything that you couldn’t find a home for. Store items like your seasonal decorations, clothing, family heirlooms or furniture you are not ready to part with.
